18-year-old dies of COVID-19

The Puerto Rico Health Department announced Sunday in its daily COVID-19 monitoring report that an 18-year-old woman and a 73-year-old man were recent victims of the virus.
With those fatalities the island’s death toll from the disease caused by the coronavirus rose to 3,191.
The report also details 118 hospitalizations, of which 106 were adults and 12 were minors.
As of Sunday there were 38 positive cases for the virus and 44 probable cases after an antigen test had been performed.
Meanwhile, 2,504,549 people had received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while another 2,267,702 people had their series completed.
The data in Sunday’s report covers the period from Sept. 24 to Oct. 8.
