The Pico de Piedra Spa, one of the most recognized tourist attractions in Aguada, continues to be under renovation that began last summer, and is projected to be ready for the next summer season, Mayor Christian Cortés Feliciano said.
The mayor pointed out that the total investment in the project is $613,409.40 and consists of key improvements, from the removal and installation of tiles and wooden roof fascias, to painting throughout the spa, to the installation of new lighting in the parking lot, among others.
“We are going to provide the people of Aguada and visitors with first-class facilities,” the mayor said.
On the reputable tourist website TripAdvisor, most of the visitors who have published their opinion rate the spa facilities as excellent. For example, ‘kaina1975’ points out that “it is a beautiful place where you can share with family or friends. It’s quiet and safe. It has many gazebos where you can do your activities, it has ample parking and the beach is clean and very nice. There are many restaurants in the area, from a beach bar to finer restaurants. I recommend it, and would go back again.”
Similarly, site BoricuaOnLine published a review where it indicates that from the Spa there is an excellent view of Desecheo Island, and it is also at the mouth of the Guayabo River.
“On the right side of the beach there is also a great place for snorkeling and their facilities are very attractive for walking, bike rides, and feature beach huts, running water and ample free parking.”
The Pico de Piedra Beach festivals are famous throughout Puerto Rico, particularly the one celebrated every June 24, the day of San Juan Bautista.
“Our Spa is the ideal complement for a good vacation or a weekend getaway, as it is very close to the city center, with a variety of shops, restaurants and events that we constantly announce in the press and social networks, such as the Artisan Market every Saturday in Cruz de Colón square,” Cortés Feliciano said.
