Apparent femicide-suicide reported in Manatí

A woman was killed by a man who then took his own life at about 5:52 a.m. on Wednesday in front of the Manatí Medical Center hospital, on the corner of Germán Rivera Vega Park in Manatí, according to police reports.


A call through the 9-1-1 Emergency System alerted authorities to the incident, the reports said. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the man’s body on the road with a gunshot wound. The woman’s body was found inside a white Toyota Corolla.


The identities of the victim and the perpetrator were unknown as of press time.
