The Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Administration (PR OSHA) Consulting Program will initiate a round of orientations for employers and workers, both in the public and private sectors, that will include training on issues related to safety and health in the workplace.

“Emphasizing the importance of employers and workers knowing the laws and regulations related to promoting healthy and risk-free workspaces, as well as acting appropriately in an emergency in their company, PR OSHA will take its training to different parts of the island,” said Labor and Human Resources Secretary Gabriel Maldonado González, whose agency includes PR OSHA. “In the face of scenarios such as the heat wave and the hurricane season, we have taken on the task of reinforcing our orientation plan for citizens through efforts ranging from informative material, consultations, visits and inspections to shops and training, among others. Therefore, we invite you to participate in these workshops that will impact the regions of Arecibo, Mayagüez, Ponce and San Juan.”

Among the topics to be discussed will be occupational health and safety aimed at young people, work brigades and the health industry. Additional topics will include the recording of occupational injuries and illnesses, high temperatures and hurricane season, fall prevention, and mental health in the workplace.

Participation in the workshops, which will be free of charge and for which space is limited, can be arranged by accessing the following link: https://eventos.dtrhpr.com/ event-category/pr-osha/
