Ex-NPP lawmaker pleads guilty in corruption case

Former New Progressive Party (NPP) representative Nelson Del Valle pleaded guilty in federal court on charges related to corruption Thursday.
Del Valle pleaded guilty before federal judge Silvia Carreño Coll after reaching an agreement with the federal prosecutor’s office.
The former legislator is accused of charges related to theft of federal funds, bribery, illegal commissions and electronic fraud, in addition to charges of obstruction of justice.
According to the motion filed, after both physical and documentary evidence was presented, defense attorneys discussed the plea agreement with the former legislator.
