Medtronic, a global leader in healthcare technology, announced Monday that the company will host the First Health Executive Forum for Latin America (FES21).
The event will take place today, from 9 a.m. to noon, virtually and in collaboration with the Council of the Americas, and will include a presentation by Medtronic President & CEO Geoff Martha on change as a competitive advantage and driver of innovation for healthcare.
Under the title “Leaders of Change,” the 2021 Health Executive Forum will bring together the leaders of the main health institutions in the region with the aim of advancing innovative solutions and discussing the necessary transformations to face the most pressing challenges in the sector.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has shown how vulnerable health systems can be, while at the same time fostering unprecedented technological advancements, solutions and partnerships to solve a variety of emerging societal problems,” said Hugo F. Villegas, vice president and president of Medtronic for Latin America. “Today’s leaders have a unique opportunity to rethink the future of healthcare by building agile and resilient organizations capable of solving the challenges ahead with collaboration, trust, and the accelerated use of medical and information technologies. Sharing experiences and reflecting on possible solutions is the purpose behind this Executive Forum.”
At the end of Martha’s participation, the findings on health and Latin American countries from the Edelman Trust Barometer 2021 will be presented by Mariana Sanz, who leads the renowned public relations firm in the region. Sanz then will begin the discussion panel “Leaders of Change in Health.”
