Governor expresses confidence in interim DNER secretary

Gov. Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia said Monday that he is very pleased with the work of interim Natural and Environmental Resources Secretary Anaís Rodríguez Vega.
“I am very satisfied with the work of the interim secretary of the Department of Natural Resources, Anaís Rodríguez, in the two or three months that she has been in charge of the position,” Pierluisi said in response to questions from the press. “Her confirmation is not in the least bit in jeopardy right now. She has not been appointed to take over [permanently]. I could make that designation, but I am very satisfied with the work that she has done.”
“Not only with the work she did in the Jobos Bay reserve [in Salinas], but now in that area that is not in the reserve, but in which she identified some docks that clearly do not have the proper permits,” he added. “She is acting as she should act, so I am very satisfied with her work to this day.”
Last Friday Rodríguez Vega ordered the demolition of nine illegally built structures and docks in the maritime-terrestrial zone and land surrounding the Jobos Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Salinas.
