Governor to review Labor Reform bill before signing it

By The Star Staff

Gov. Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia said Thursday that he will have to review the language of the Labor Reform bill to determine whether he will sign it or not.

“I have to see the details,” the governor said in response to questions from the press. “Let’s see, I know that some of my remarks were heeded, so I am going to be well aware because I sent communications to the House and the Senate in the process of considering that measure. Well, I vetoed the one that came to me some time ago and made some comments. So what I am going to be watching out for is that the indications I made were heeded. If they were, I will attach my signature. If for some reason they were not taken care of, then I reserve the decision for when I have the measure in my office and I can review it, along with the advice of the agencies that assist me.”

Pierluisi made his comments upon leaving the Small and Midsize Enterprise Week event at the United Retailers Center.
