Grenade found near San Juan bakery removed for controlled detonation

Personnel from the Puerto Rico Police Bureau’s Explosives Division carried out a controlled detonation Tuesday of a grenade found near a bakery on José de Diego Avenue in San Juan.
The controlled detonation took place at the Isla de Cabras range.
The discovery of the grenade was reported at around 5:49 p.m. on Monday, so it was necessary to create a perimeter and vacate the nearby establishment.
No injuries or other effects from the emergency situation were reported.
The situation was dealt with by agents from the Explosives Division and other specialized emergency personnel.
