The Health (DS) Secretary Dr. Carlos Mellado López said late last week that around 14,000 children had received the vaccine against COVID-19.
“More than 14,000 children in Puerto Rico have the COVID-19 vaccine,” Mellado López said in a written statement Friday. “This is reflected in the PREIS [Puerto Rico Electronic Immunization System] registry. At the moment, 14,577 children and preadolescents have been vaccinated as part of the process that began on November 4.”
“Vaccines have given us hope to control the pandemic and provide protective coverage for our children,” he added.
“We have a prevention tool; however, until most of the population is vaccinated the virus will continue to spread. #Protect yourselfVacúnate.”
