During the holiday season, the largest community pharmacy chain in Puerto Rico, Caridad y Pharmamax, is participating in several initiatives to support non-profit foundations that are dedicated to serving children and people in need who are confined in hospitals or sheltered homes.
“Among the most important characteristics of Christmas is giving, serving and thanking, and in conjunction with various media and entities, we will do our bit so that children and people with some type of need receive their toy or donation, and have a joyful Christmas,” said Víctor Curet Crespo, director of sales and marketing at Caridad y Pharmamax.
One of the “Live It in Gratitude” initiatives is in conjunction with the TV Teleonce team, with the following entities chosen for assistance: Hogar Ruth, Hogar Niñito Jesús, Rayito de Esperanza and the American Cancer Society.
Another effort is the “Santa Route” in which, in partnership with radio station KQ-105, the Children’s Hospital and San Cristóbal Crib Home are sponsored.
“The call is to donate toys that will then be given to these foundations,” Curet Crespo said. “Our stores are serving as collection centers.”
Meanwhile, proceeds from sales of stick-on Christmas gift tags available at the chain’s stores are for the benefit of the Pediatric Hospital Foundation.
Caridad and Pharmamax has 27 locations in the San Juan metro area and the north, west and south of Puerto Rico.
