By The Star Staff
LUMA Energy announced on Wednesday the issuance of a new bill design that customers could be receiving by regular mail and also electronically in March.
“For years, Puerto Ricans have lacked the information they need to better understand their energy usage and bill,” LUMA Energy Vice President of Customer Experience Jessica Laird said in a written statement. “This new LUMA Energy design is a fundamental change that will provide more transparency and empower our 1.5 million customers with relevant information to better understand their electricity usage and their bill.”
“This new bill design is another example of LUMA Energy’s commitment to improving the overall customer experience and providing the level of service that Puerto Ricans expect and deserve,” she added.
The new invoice design represents a fundamental change in the information provided to customers. The new bill design includes clearer graphs on energy usage and costs, and will feature helpful tips for saving electricity. As part of the new bill design, LUMA Energy customers will be able to better understand exactly what they are paying for, the breakdown of their monthly energy usage, and what they can do to save electricity and therefore money, the statement said.
In addition, the new design of the invoice is based on market research and the opinion of LUMA Energy customers to help better meet their needs, the statement noted. The new model highlights key information such as bill breakdown, payment due date and tips to help customers save energy month-to-month. It also offers graphs that illustrate energy consumption and compare it with the previous month, and with the same month of the previous year.
