Man electrocuted in Corozal

A man was fatally electrocuted at around 2:45 a.m. on Monday, in front of the business Aquí Me Quedo (Here I Stay) on the PR-568 highway at the intersection with PR-805 in the Cuchilla neighborhood of Corozal.
According to preliminary information, a call was received through the 9-1-1 Emergency System, reporting that 31-year-old Erick Vázquez Pérez was found dead by his brother at the scene. Vázquez Pérez had burns on different parts of his body after he allegedly touched an electrical cable that had fallen to the ground.
Officer Carlos Burgos from the Cedro Arriba precinct investigated the 9-1-1 report. Paramedics from Corozal municipal Emergency Management, as well as firefighter Carlos Pérez, who joined the investigation, were first responders at the scene.
