Man in critical condition after car strikes horse on expressway

A 24-year-old man was seriously injured after the car he was driving collided with a horse at kilometer 76.7 of the PR-52 expressway in Santa Isabel at around 4:25 a.m. on Sunday.
According to the police report, the man, who was driving a 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage, was transported by emergency paramedics to the San Cristóbal hospital in Ponce.
He was accompanied by a 24-year-old woman who was slightly injured.
Officer Caroline Álvarez of the Salinas Highway Division is in charge of the investigation.
Information on the condition of the horse had not been reported as of press time.
