Man killed when tree falls on car he is driving

A man died Saturday after a tree fell on the car he was driving as a result of a landslide at around 8:10 p.m. on Highway 8865, kilometer 1.3, in Toa Baja.


According to the police report, Luis Febus Padilla, 44, a resident of Toa Alta, was driving his gray Toyota Yaris through the area when a landslide occurred and a tree fell on the hood. Febus Padilla died at the scene.


A 43-year-old female passenger in the same car was transported to a hospital in stable condition.


Officer Antonio Hernández of the Bayamón Highway Patrol and prosecutor Glorimar García were in charge of the investigation.
