Islanders are expected to turn out in big numbers today, as they have been doing in recent months at various establishments and public squares, to welcome Maripily Rivera, who became the fourth winner of the program “La Casa de los Famosos.”
The latest installment of the reality TV program broadcast by Telemundo ended on Monday.
In a caravan that will leave from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport at 4 p.m. and travel through Baldorioty, José de Diego, Ponce De León, Ashford, and Dos Hermanos Bridge until it culminates in the T-Mobile District, Maripily will share with her people and relive the experience that millions of Puerto Rico residents experienced and who, caught up in the euphoria of the program, made her the winner of the reality show with each of their votes.
“I want to hug my island and feel them,” the model and businesswoman said. “Knowing how they have overflowed during these 119 days that I was locked up, but that they did not detach themselves from me and, elimination after elimination, they decided to keep me in the house until they made me their winner.”
“This is a triumph to celebrate with my people, because it was because of them and because of the commitment I felt toward my people, that I did not give up and I remained firm until the end, being the strong and real woman that everyone already knows,” Maripily added.
The caravan will feature floats and commemorative events joined by a group of motorcyclists summoned by Rey Charlie. More groups are encouraged to join the town celebration that will culminate with musical performances throughout the night by Grupo Karis, Joseph Fonseca, Sanchz, Michael Stuart and La India, among others, in the T-Mobile District, where in addition, “Huracán Boricua” will share closely with her audience.
