The elected legislators of the New Progressive Party (NPP) have chosen Thomas Rivera Schatz and Carlos “Johnny” Méndez Núñez as their minority spokesmen in the island Senate and House of Representatives, respectively.
“I thank fellow legislators for the diligence with which they selected the positions that they will occupy as a caucus of the legislative assembly that is ready to begin in January. These are different times that merit extraordinary efforts for the benefit of the people,” NPP Secretary General Noé Marcano said Sunday in a written statement. “I am convinced that the experience and commitment to Puerto Rico will direct the efforts in the upper and lower [legislative] chambers.”

The NPP is currently represented by Sens. Rivera Schatz, Ríos, Migdalia Padilla, Henry Neumann, Nitza Moran, Gregorio Matías, Keren Riquelme, William Villafañe and Marissa “Marisita” Jiménez.
