The Puerto Rico Planning Board on Wednesday recognized and congratulated the Autonomous Municipality of Caguas for its exceptional performance in the management of delegated functions in a letter addressed to Mayor William Miranda Torres, in which the results of a recent audit were revealed.

“Based on the evaluation carried out, the Planning Board concludes that the Autonomous Municipality of Caguas has satisfactorily complied with all the areas reviewed in the Audit of the Administrative Part of the delegated functions corresponding to the year 2019,” reads the letter. “Therefore, the audit is closed.”

The letter adds that the municipality has demonstrated an exemplary commitment to transparency, efficiency and accountability, establishing a model of excellence that deserves to be emulated by other entities. In this regard, the Planning Board said it urges the Municipality of Caguas to maintain the solid practices observed during the audit, and to continue strengthening communication with the board for any queries or clarifications related to the delegated functions.

“The Planning Board extends its deepest thanks to the Autonomous Municipality of Caguas for their valuable collaboration and willingness during the audit process,” the letter said. “Their commitment to transparency and good governance is a fundamental pillar for Puerto Rico’s progress.”

Miranda Torres remarked that “I reiterate that our goal is to serve our city with the highest standards of honesty, transparency and commitment to public service.”

The Planning Board’s evaluation yielded positive results in all areas reviewed, according to the letter.

“I congratulate my municipal colleagues who work responsibly every day to do their duty,” the mayor said. “We continuously strive to carry out our functions based on innovation and the sustainable development of the city.”
