The organization Plenitud PR launched a campaign Wednesday to raise $30,000 by Monday, June 30, to support its organic farming, education and food programs in Las Marías, amid funding cuts.
“Our programs are designed to empower individuals and families to thrive, even amid challenges,” said Paula Paoli, co-director of Plenitud PR, in a written statement. “From providing fresh, locally sourced meals to seniors in Las Marías to offering holistic education to children and youth – we are dedicated to reaching out to our neighbors in need.”
The organization reported that the western municipality faces high levels of poverty and food insecurity, with seven out of 10 children living in poverty and one in four seniors at risk of isolation. With the goal of $30,000, Plenitud PR seeks to sustain projects that benefit these vulnerable populations.
The campaign accepts donations through plenitudpr.org or by calling 787-221-2646.
