For the fourth straight year, San Germán Mayor Virgilio Olivera Olivera has given a monetary incentive to graduates of public and private high schools.
“Today we are handing over checks in the amount of $100 to students of the public and private high schools who graduated in May of 2004 from all the education centers of our beautiful and historic City of San Germán,” the mayor said. “We are also giving out passes to enjoy our Aquatic Park [Surf’N Fun Water Park].”
“We give them our most expressive thanks for having put the name of San Germán very high. … As thanks for this great effort, commitment, achievement, work and dedication on the part of all of them, in their studies, we give them, officially, this economic assistance to motivate them to continue forward,” Olivera added. “We wish them much success in their new student stage and of course, we accompany them with eternal blessings.”
“Many of these young people will go on to study at the university or learn a business,” the mayor noted. “We feel extremely proud of the quality of the young people! For us it is important to support the youth.”
