The Senate Appointments Committee will evaluate in a public hearing today the appointment of Domingo Emanuelli Hernández as secretary of the island Department of Justice.
Senate President José Luis Dalmau Santiago, who is also the chairman of the Appointments Committee, will preside over the hearing.
Emanuelli Hernández has practiced the legal profession for more than 43 years, the Senate noted in a written statement.
The public hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. in the Leopoldo Figueroa Room of the Capitol.
The Appointments Committee will continue the evaluation process as long as the officials appointed by Gov. Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia to executive branch positions complete all the required documentation, the statement said.
