Several arrested during demonstration over Rincón boardwalk

Several protesters were arrested Wednesday during a demonstration against the construction of a boardwalk near the entrance to the Rincón Lighthouse.

Police reported Tuesday that Rincón District officers were responding to a demonstration of some 81 people on highway PR-4413, near the entrance to the Rincón Lighthouse.

According to the reports, the protesters were demonstrating against the construction of a boardwalk in the area.

Several protesters were arrested.

Authorities said Inspector Edgardo Morales Pérez, the officer in charge of the police region, was on site to monitor the situation.
