Sign at entrance to San Germán vandalized with anti-NPP message

Public property was found vandalized in the Municipality of San Germán on Monday with the phrase “Death to the NPP.”

NPP is the initials of the pro-statehood New Progressive Party.

“Very regrettable! Today our beloved City of San Germán awoke vandalized,” Mayor Virgilio Olivera Olivera said in a written statement. “Specifically, the sign at the main entrance of our beloved city, which is public property and property of the people of Puerto Rico.”

He said the “message of hate” appeared to be the work of “some artists.”

“We are not going to permit, under any concept, this type of action, that does so much damage to our beloved city of San Germán, where respect, law and order reign.”
