Woman arrested in incident of alleged gender violence

A woman was arrested in Santurce for allegedly assaulting another person in the presence of a minor under one year of age.

The police said Monday that an assault in an incident of gender violence was reported in the Luis Llorens Torres residential complex in Santurce.

According to the police, Desiré Ortiz Cardona was arrested for allegedly striking another person on different parts of their body in the presence of a minor under one year of age.

The woman was detained in the Calle Loíza precinct barracks for the possible corresponding charges.

Agents attached to the Specialized Unit for Domestic Violence took charge of the investigation.
