Woman stable after receiving medical attention in possible gender violence case

By The Star Staff

The police on Tuesday reported an assault in an alleged incident of gender violence at the Vista Hermosa residential complex in Puerto Nuevo.

According to the police, a woman contacted the local precinct to report that her partner, identified as Steven Hernández, had assaulted her.

When the agents arrived, the woman had several puncture wounds allegedly made by the man, so the woman was transported to police headquarters, where she was treated by paramedics and her condition was stable. The woman did not require hospitalization.

The police specified that the man had not been located as of midday Tuesday and the case would be consulted with a prosecutor for the possible filing of charges.

Agents attached to the Specialized Unit for Domestic Violence took charge of the investigation.
