The police were investigating a kidnapping complaint reported at 4 a.m. Sunday on PR-187, on the premises of the El Indio business in Loíza’s Las Carreras Sector.

According to the police report, a 32-year-old woman claimed that while she was walking in the area, a black compact car stopped with two individuals inside. One of them got out of the vehicle and, against her will, forced her into the car and transported her along PR-187 toward Río Grande.

Later, one of the men attacked her and snatched a chain from her, she said.

The woman managed to get out of the vehicle and reach a gas station where she called the 911 Emergency System.

The victim was taken to the Loíza Diagnostic and Treatment Center for evaluation.

Officer Luis Rodríguez, assigned to the Loíza precinct, conducted a preliminary investigation and referred the case to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Carolina region.
