The former mayor of San Juan,You will live in “Green LighCruz Soto, expressed in a radio interview that the Popular Democratic Party (PPD) has lost electoral strength and harmony with the needs of the people of Puerto Rico, in addition to affirming that the PDP candidate for mayor from San Juan, Terestella González Denton, has no chance of success.
“The Popular Party has been losing its harmony with the things that the people of Puerto Rico want to be resolved. It is a party that revels in the good things of the past. We are two days away from celebrating the Constitution of the Commonwealth, and I cannot deny that the Puerto Rico in which I grew up is the product of economic development sustained by the Commonwealth. But I also cannot deny that the Commonwealth, in its practical essence, died,” Cruz Soto said in a radio interview (Radio Isla 1320).
Cruz Soto confirmed that she voted and will vote again for Manuel Natal Albelo, of the Citizen Victory Movement, for the mayor of San Juan. She also mentioned that the candidacy of Jesús Manuel Ortiz, president of the PDP, “does not connect.”
“I haven’t decided how I’m going to cast my vote yet. Throughout my life, I voted for the Popular Democratic Party. In the last election I voted for Manuel Natal in San Juan, and I am going to vote for him again, but I have not decided how I will vote for the governorship. When looking at the proposals, the only ones I am seeing now are those of Juan Dalmau and Jesús Manuel Ortiz, who is a decent and honest man, but it seems that he does not connect even with the youth of our country,” said Cruz Soto.
Regarding the candidacy of Terestella González Denton, Cruz Soto pointed out that “she who places a lot of blame should hold her tongue because she has little project in his future.” She recalled his own experience winning the mayor’s office of San Juan with a programmatic alliance based on agreements that were 90% fulfilled, without excuses and with dedication to the city.
“Certainly the Popular Party is not going to win in San Juan. Here we are between Mayor Miguel Romero and Manuel Natal. If the PDP bleeds dry in San Juan, its chances of winning in other key municipalities such as Bayamón, Mayagüez, Carolina and Caguas will be weakened. The Popular Party will bleed to death in places where it has strength, and that is not going to happen,” he concluded.
Cruz Soto also criticized Resident Commissioner Jenniffer González for her support of Donald Trump, suggesting she might make similarly controversial claims about LUMA Energy in the future.
