5-year-old girl left inside a vehicle dies in Toa Baja

Authorities are investigating an incident in which a 5-year-old girl was locked inside a vehicle around 4 p.m. on Saturday, on Francia Street in the Sabana Seca neighborhood of Toa Baja.

According to the police investigation, the girl’s father allegedly arrived at the residence with the child in his vehicle, entered the house, and fell asleep. Upon awakening, he returned to the car and found the girl unresponsive. He took her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Officer Iván Santiago, assigned to the Bayamón Homicide Division, and Prosecutor José Díaz took charge of the investigation.
