The Camuy Prospect eliminated the defending champion Bayamón Vaqueros and secured a place in the final series of the Double-A Youth Baseball League with a decisive 8-5 victory in the divisional title round of the playoffs earlier this week at the Abra Honda neighborhood park in Camuy.

The Prospect was crowned champion of the North Division and advanced to the final of the youth tournament for the first time.

Camuy scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take control of the game.

Keniel Miranda drove in two runs, while Allan Vega, Javier Ramos and Yoel Ramos each scored two runs. On the mound, Adrián Garaciano earned the win in relief after pitching three and a third innings, allowing two runs, one of which was unearned.

In the final series, Camuy will face the Central Division champion Aibonito Titans, another team making its debut in the championship. The best-of-five finals will begin on Saturday at Hermanos Marrero Stadium in Aibonito at 11 a.m.
