As part of its citizen dialogue and education initiatives on health and civic issues, the Citizen Alliance for Puerto Rico (ACPR by its initials in Spanish) will hold its February Lunch Meeting today starting at noon at D’Paellas Restaurant in Hato Rey.

This year’s event will feature a keynote address by prominent Puerto Rican physician and researcher Dr. Fernando Cabanillas, who will present on the topic “Chronic Stress: The Invisible Epidemic of the 21st Century,” addressing, from a scientific and social perspective, one of the main health challenges facing the population today.

In addition, as part of the celebration of Puerto Rico Police Week, the ACPR will give institutional recognition to the Puerto Rico Police Bureau, through its superintendent, Col. Joseph González, in gratitude for the commendable work that the police perform and for their commitment to residents’ safety and quality of life.

González will deliver a brief presentation titled “How Can We Play a More Proactive Role in Neighborhood Safety?” aimed at fostering a relationship of collaboration, respect and shared responsibility between citizens and law enforcement.

“It is becoming increasingly necessary for citizens to get involved in everything related to our collective well-being and safety, so we urge leaders to participate in initiatives like these,” ACPR President José Varela Fernández said.

The ACPR is a non-profit social action organization made up of leaders from various professional and social sectors, dedicated to promoting constructive dialogue, citizen engagement and the comprehensive development of Puerto Rico.
