To celebrate culture and promote local talent, the Municipality of Aguas Buenas will hold its First Cultural and Craft Fair this Sunday starting at noon in Luis A. Ferré Public Square.
The event will be dedicated to José Morales Berríos, better known on social networks as Gongo Fishing, an Aguasbonense who has captured the attention of thousands with his authenticity, charisma and feats of catching reptiles throughout the island.
“This is an event designed with great affection for our people and for those who visit us,” Mayor Karina Nieves Serrano said. “We want Aguas Buenas to become a meeting point for culture, art and family. What better occasion to recognize someone who represents our community spirit such as José Morales Berríos, “Gongo Fishing,” from the Sumidero neighborhood, for whom we have so much affection and gratitude for his volunteer work.”
The fair will include music and cultural dance presentations, classic car exhibitions, a mini agricultural farm, craft workshops, and the participation of local artisans and merchants.
The mayor noted such activities, in addition to promoting appreciation for cultural identity, also represent a direct boost to the economic development of the town.
“Every visitor who arrives, every artisan who sells, every merchant who participates is part of a growth network that we want to continue strengthening,” Nieves Serrano said. “This fair is just the beginning of many other initiatives that will continue to position Aguas Buenas as an active municipality.”
