Another gold medal for PR at Junior Pan Am Games

Edmarie León of Puerto Rico claimed the gold medal on Monday in the women’s singles table tennis tournament at the II Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games in Paraguay.
León defeated Canada’s Natalie Chan in four straight sets in the final (11-6, 11-2, 11-5, 11-8).
With the gold medal, León earned her third medal at Asunción 2025, following the silver she won in women’s doubles with Kristal Meléndez and the bronze in mixed doubles with Steven Moreno.
In the men’s singles tournament, Puerto Rico’s Steven Moreno secured the bronze medal after losing in the semifinals to Nandan Naresh (USA), closing out his individual campaign with two medals: singles bronze and mixed doubles bronze with León.
At the end of Monday’s competition, Puerto Rico had 12 medals at Asunción 2025.
