Atenienses, Leonas close out BSNF regular season with wins

The Atenienses of Manatí and the Leonas of Ponce finished the final day of the 2025 regular season of the National Women’s Superior Basketball (BSNF by its initials in Spanish) league on Wednesday with victories.
At Raúl “Pipote” Oliveras Coliseum, the visiting Atenienses defeated the Cafetaleras of Yauco 94-83, consolidating their hold on fourth place in the standings with an 11-7 record.
Kaela Hilaire led Manatí with 19 points, followed by Chelsea Mitchell with 18 points, Kiki Jefferson and India Pagán with 16 points each, and Jessica Jackson with 10.
For Yauco, Zaida González recorded a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds, Sidney Cooks scored 19 points, Asia Strong had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Sierra Calhoun added 16 points. The Cafetaleras finished in last place at 3-15.
Meanwhile, at Juan “Pachín” Vicéns Auditorium in Ponce the Leonas (5-13) dominated the Criollas of Caguas, 94-74. Wilneishka Rivera led Ponce with 22 points, followed by Paola Maldonado with 17 points, Talia von Oelhoffen and Shyla Osmond with 16 points each, and both Victoria Mercado and Shelby Cheslek with 10 points. Cheslek also grabbed 10 rebounds.
For Caguas (8-10), Victoria Suárez and Fabiola Penzo scored 14 and 13 points, respectively, and Lyannis Torres, Brandy Tweed and Naheim Suárez each added 10, with Tweed collecting 11 rebounds.
