The team owners of the Pescadores del Plata of ComerÃo and the Azucareros of Yabucoa agreed this week to play the entire 2026 Superior Double-A Baseball League Final Series at Yldefonso Solá Morales Stadium in Caguas.
ComerÃo team owner Denny Figueroa and Enrique DÃaz, of Yabucoa, made the decision during a meeting with the Puerto Rico Baseball Federation President José Daniel Quiles.
The best-of-seven series will begin on Friday, Aug. 14 at 8 p.m. The Pescadores will occupy the home dugout for the first game, having posted the best overall record among the finalists.
Two games will be played during the first weekend and three during the second. If necessary, the final two games will take place over a third weekend.
ComerÃo returns to a Double-A finals for the first time since 2003, when the team won the only national championship in its history.
Yabucoa, meanwhile, will be making its second championship appearance in three seasons. The Azucareros will be seeking their fifth national title and their first in 30 years.
