Cangrejeras, Atenienses triumph in the penultimate week of LVSF regular season.

The Cangrejeras of Santurce moved within four wins of finishing the Women’s Superior Volleyball League (LVSF by its initials in Spanish) regular season undefeated on Friday night, securing their 16th victory over the Valencianas of Juncos in four sets.
The set scores were 25-19, 18-25, 25-10 and 25-17.
Helena Grozer led Santurce with 18 points, followed by Tamara Otene with 16 and Andrea Rangel with 13.
Haley Bush was the top scorer for Juncos with 13 points.
Santurce increased its points total to 45 with the win.
Juncos remains in sixth and last place in the standings with a 5-13 record and 15 points.
In Friday’s other match, the Atenienses of Manatí outlasted the Criollas of Caguas in five sets at Juan Aubín Cruz Coliseum in Manatí by set scores of 23-25, 26-24, 31-29, 18-25 and 15-10.
Manatí had five players score in double figures, with Karla Santos leading the way with 29 points, followed by Shaylee Myers with 20, Solimar Cestero with 13, Jomailee Reyes with 12 and Emily Elliot with 10.
For Caguas, Jenaisya Moore scored 25 points, Génesis Collazo 19, Alexandra Sczech 16 and Diana Reyes 14.
Fourth-place Manatí improved to 7-10 with 21 points, while Caguas remained in third place with an 8-10 record and 26 points.
