Carolina regains 5th place in COPUVO

The Big Sisters of Carolina earned their sixth win of the season by dominating the Vaqueras of Bayamón in straight sets during the Saturday round of the Puerto Rican Volleyball Confederation (COPUVO by its acronym in Spanish) tournament.
At Domingo “Lulo” González Court in Carolina, the Big Sisters won by scores of 25-18, 25-23 and 25-18, a result that allowed them to regain fifth place in the standings with a 6-4 record and 17 accumulated points. The Vaqueras, meanwhile, dropped to sixth place with a 4-4 record and 14 points.
Meanwhile, on the Bo. Ceiba Baja Court, the host Lady Sharks of Aguadilla rallied after losing the first set to defeat the Llaneras of Toa Baja in four sets, 23-25, 25-18, 25-22 and 25-21. With the victory, the Lady Sharks improved their record to 2-7 and moved up to seventh place with seven points. Toa Baja remains at the bottom of the standings at 0-9 and zero points.
COPUVO action was to continue Sunday night with three matches. The Amazónicas of Trujillo Alto (7-3, 26 points) were to visit Las de la Mancha of Corozal (2-6, seven points), the Volleyball Girls of Guayanilla (6-2, 21 points) were to host the Bravas of Cidra (6-3, 21 pts), and the Criollas of Caguas (1-7, 5 points) were to face the Llaneras.
