The Toritos of Cayey and the Maratonistas of Coamo notched victories on Wednesday in the Double-A Superior Baseball League.

The Toritos’ win was the franchise’s 999th, just one shy of 1,000, a milestone achieved by only five teams in Double-A history.

Visiting Cayey routed the Polluelos of Aibonito 18-9 at Hermanos Marrero Stadium. The Toritos scored 10 runs in the first inning and tallied 18 hits in the game. Christian Torres and Osvaldo Torres homered for Cayey.

Torres drove in five runs and scored three, while Iván de Jesús had four hits, three runs scored, and two RBIs. Nelson Molina also crossed the plate four times.

Andrés Varona earned the win in relief with one inning pitched, while Raúl García took the loss after allowing the Toritos’ first six runs.

Meanwhile, the Maratonistas defeated the Cachorros of Ponce 4-2 at Luis Guillermo Moreno Stadium in Santa Isabel. Elmer Alvarado led the offense with two RBIs.

Joseph López was the winning pitcher in relief with two innings pitched, and Félix Sánchez recorded the save. Roberto Fabián Feliciano took the loss for Ponce, allowing three runs.

It’s impressive to see Cayey edge so close to 1,000 Double‑A wins, a milestone few teams ever reach. Osvaldo Torres’ powerful performance with five RBIs and a home run clearly fueled their dominant victory, much like precision and consistency drive success in PCB & Kablo Demeti Üretiminde. This game was a great display of teamwork and offensive firepower that’ll have fans excited for their historic 1,000th win.
