Bravos of Cidra infielder Ricardo de la Torre opened the 2026 Double-A Superior Baseball League season with three home runs in his first two games.

De la Torre drove in eight runs and scored four times to lead the Bravos (Braves), who lost to the Criollos (Creoles) of Caguas and then defeated the Polluelos of Aibonito.

“It’s not luck,” de la Torre said. “I’ve prepared very well these past few months for this season, and thank God all the work and sacrifice is paying off.”

De la Torre is on pace to surpass his performance from last season, when he hit five home runs in 20 games.

“It’s something I was already expecting, because I know the talent I have and how demanding I am of myself,” he added. “The most important thing is that I’ve helped my team, and that’s always my mentality: to help my team.”
