San Sebastián downs Hormigueros in 11 innings in Northwest

The Maratonistas of Coamo and the Patrulleros of San Sebastián won their respective sectional finals games on Sunday as Superior Double-A Baseball League postseason play continued.
Coamo defeated the Peces Voladores of Salinas, 7-2, for its eighth straight victory.
The Maratonistas began the streak by winning its final three games of the regular season. They then swept the Brujos of Guayama 3-0 in the sectional semifinals and now hold a 2-0 lead in the Southern Section Finals.
A solo home run by Luis Rodríguez broke a 2-2 tie and gave the Maratonistas the lead in the seventh inning. A four-run outburst in the next inning extended their advantage. William Rivera also homered for Coamo.
Reinaldo Espada pitched 1.2 scoreless innings to earn the win in relief, while Jean Ramos took the loss after allowing four runs over 2.1 innings.
In the Northwest Section, the Patrulleros of San Sebastián rallied to tie their series with a 4-3 victory in 11 innings over the Libertadores of Hormigueros.
A single by Boris Rodríguez drove in Jesús Tavares for the go-ahead run. Reliever Oscar Rivera was credited with the win after pitching two innings, while closer Marvin Galarza took the loss.
Rolando Camacho hit a home run for the Patrulleros in the ninth inning. Tavares and Camacho each collected three hits to lead San Sebastián’s offense.
