Brujos of Guayama outfielder Edison Mora has been named the Most Valuable Player of the 2026 Superior Double-A Baseball League season.

“I am super happy, proud, and deeply grateful. This was something I had my sights set on because it was the one thing missing from my career, and, thank God, we made it happen,” Mora stated in written remarks earlier this week. “It is something I will always be thankful for, because that is what you work for. You strive to achieve milestones like this, and I give thanks to God for my health.”

The voting process was coordinated by the Puerto Rico Baseball Federation and involved the participation of journalists, play-by-play announcers, and sports commentators.

Mora accumulated 129 points, followed by Carlos Sánchez of Juana Díaz with 91, Kevin Luciano of Cayey with 37, Jan Hernández of Yabucoa with 21, José Rivera of Comerío with 19, and Antonio Jiménez of Las Piedras with 10.

During the regular season, the Guayama player claimed the Double-A batting title for the second consecutive year.

His batting average was .487, with 37 hits in 76 official at-bats. Additionally, he scored 22 runs, drove in 16, and stole 12 bases.

Of his 37 hits, 28 were singles, 6 were doubles, 1 was a triple, and 2 were home runs.

In just three seasons in the Double-A league, Mora was named Rookie of the Year in 2024, batting champion in 2025 and 2026, and the Gold Glove winner for center field in 2025.

“Honestly, this brings me immense joy,” Mora said Wednesday. “I am extremely grateful for everything I have achieved. I can’t even fully express the pride I feel regarding all the people who helped me make this happen.”

Mora became just the third batter since 1955 to win consecutive batting titles in Double-A. Before him, the feat was accomplished by Héctor Ayala in 1977 and 1978, and Diómedes Delgado in 1988 and 1989.

“I have dedicated all my awards to my family and to everyone who has helped me, but this one, in particular, I dedicate to myself -- for all the effort I put in, all the work I invested, and all the times things weren’t going well yet I was able to focus with discipline, dig deep, and achieve it,” he said. “It is an award I will hold close to my heart.”

Mora succeeds 2025 MVP José Rivera of Comerío.

I enjoyed how 99 Nights in the Forest mixes emotional storytelling with terrifying combat, creating an unforgettable Roblox wilderness rescue horror game experience that constantly pressured me into making risky choices while exploring dark forests alone.
