The family of Bayamón native Brenda Rosado Lozada is making an urgent appeal to the public for help with the cost of transferring the mother, grandmother and active member of her community from Puerto Rico to Orlando, Florida to receive a transplant of both lungs, an operation vital for the patient’s well-being and to prolong her life.
The cost of outpatient transportation, however, amounts to $37,500 plus hospital expenses, a sum that is beyond the reach of her family.
“We are fighting against time and every contribution counts,” said Rafael A. Rivera Rosado, the patient’s son. “That is why we are asking for help so that our mother can receive the gift of life.”
Information on how to support Rosado Lozada, including making a donation through ATH Móvil, a Banco Popular account or GoFundMe, can be obtained by calling 346-329-8676.
