Gigantes, Capitanes notch wins in BSN.

The Gigantes of Carolina-Canóvanas and Capitanes of Arecibo were winners in a pair of Superior National Basketball League (BSN) games on Sunday night.
At Carlos Miguel Mangual Coliseum in Canóvanas, the Gigantes defeated the Santeros of Aguada, 98-69.
After an even first quarter, the Gigantes held the Santeros to 12 points in the second frame to build a 43-28 halftime lead, and didn’t look back in the second half.
Tremont Waters led the Gigantes’ offensive charge with 19 points and eight assists, followed by Scottie James, a 6-foot-8-inch power forward from Indiana and Florida who enjoyed a stellar debut with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Jaylen Nowell contributed 15 points, Hunter Tyson added 14, and Daniel Rivera scored 10 points to go along with six rebounds.
John Holland and Giancarlos Rosado led the Santeros with 10 points each.
At Arquelio Torres Ramírez Coliseum in San Germán, meanwhile, the Capitanes defeated the host Atléticos, 90-85.
Justin Reyes was Arecibo’s top scorer with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Derrick Walton contributed 19 points and 11 assists. Timothy Soares added another 19 points, and Jack Edward McVeigh chipped in 15.
For the Atléticos, Nick Perkins scored 23 points, while Montrezl Harrell led the team in rebounds with 8, and André Curbelo led in assists with 5.
