Lares’ Muagututia named MVP of LVSM’s Week 4 All-Star Team

The Puerto Rican Volleyball Federation announced the Men’s Superior Volleyball League (LVSM by its initials in Spanish) Week 4 All-Star Team, recognizing the most outstanding players by position during the week.
The Patriotas of Lares placed three of their athletes on the honor roll. Garrett Muagututia was named Player of the Week and Best Attacker, while Nick West was recognized as Best Blocker, solidifying the Patriotas’ dominance on both sides of the net.
In the two matches Lares played this week, Muagututia racked up an impressive 37 points in eight sets, for an average of 4.63. He also had a standout performance against the Gigantes of Carolina, accumulating 24 points: 23 on attacks and 1 on a block.
In the scoring department, Garrett ranks 10th with a total of 110 points (92 attacks, 8 blocks and 10 aces) in 35 sets, for an average of 3.14.
Meanwhile, his teammate Nick West tallied seven blocks in his standout performance against the Gigantes, placing him second in that category with 26 blocks in 35 sets, for an average of 0.74.
Leaders by category
* Félix Chapman (Carolina) leads in scoring with a total of 183 points in 32 sets played (156 attacks, 18 blocks and 9 aces), for an average of 5.72. He also leads in attacks.
* Julio Mercedes (Plataneros of Corozal) leads in blocks with an average of 0.76 (28 successful blocks in 37 sets played).
* Pelegrín Vargas Jr. (Caribes of San Sebastián) leads in aces with 25 successful aces in 35 sets, for an average of 0.71.
* Luis Bertrán (Carolina) has 140 digs in 39 sets played, for an average of 3.59, leading both the digs and libero categories.
* Inovel Romero (Mets of Guaynabo) has 128 assists in 30 sets, for an average of 4.27.
* Kevin Rodríguez (Cafeteros of Yauco) leads in sets with a total of 218 in 34 sets, for an average of 6.41.
The following players were also selected for the All-Star Team:
Joseph Kauliakamoa (Gigantes of Adjuntas) – Best Setter; Félix Chapman (Carolina) – Best Opposite; Spencer Oliver (Corozal) – Best Attacker; Guillermo Moya (Corozal) – Best Blocker; Luis M. Bertrán (Carolina) – Best Libero.
