Alternate speaker of the Puerto Rico House of Representatives Wilson Román López highlighted on Sunday “the excellent work of our dear young workers, from District 17 (Aguadilla and Moca), who participated very actively, with great enthusiasm and commitment in our program of the Lower House.”
“We received in our district office, for the last time, the young people who participated in the experience of our Puerto Rico House of Representatives, as part of our summer employment,” he said.
“The young people were part of our office throughout the month of June and were able to know, in more depth, the different functions and tasks,” the legislator noted. “They also had the opportunity to carry out community work and participated in educational workshops of different government agencies.”
Román López emphasized that “for us, the early integration of young people into the work environment is a key factor for their personal, professional and social development.”
“It is not only about obtaining income, but also about acquiring skills, values and experiences that mark their future,” he said. “Working, from an early age, allows young people to learn practical skills such as responsibility, punctuality, teamwork, effective communication and problem solving. Entering the world of work helps them discover their interests, strengths and areas for improvement, guiding them in the choice of a suitable career or vocation. It also encourages responsibility and independence. By assuming work commitments , young people begin to value effort and discipline, which strengthens their emotional maturity and sense of responsibility.”
