The island Senate and House of Representatives, along with the Capitol Superintendency and the Office of Legislative Services, announced on Wednesday the creation of a collection center to collect items destined for families affected by Hurricane Milton in the state of Florida.
The center will be set up today and Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Plaza San Juan Bautista, in front of Plaza de la Democracia on the grounds of the Capitol in Puerta de Tierra.
Donations of non-perishable food, first aid supplies, personal hygiene items and bottled water will be accepted.
The leaders of the legislative bodies called on everyone in Puerto Rico to join the timely humanitarian cause and help needy families in Florida.
