Leones throttle Atléticos at home.

The Leones of Ponce defeated the Atléticos of San Germán 88-65 in the only scheduled Superior National Basketball (BSN by its initials in Spanish) league game on Wednesday night at Juan “Pachín” Vicéns Auditorium in Ponce.
The Leones were led by Jalen Crutcher, who finished with 26 points. Brady Manek contributed 18 points and nine rebounds, while Jezreel de Jesús added 17 points.
George Hamilton scored 17 points for San Germán.
Ponce led 20-13 after the opening quarter and never trailed after that.
By halftime, the hosts held a 43-35 lead, and after three periods the score was 62-50 in favor of the Leones.
In the fourth quarter, a three-pointer by Crutcher gave Ponce a 20-point cushion -- 76-56 -- with 4:13 left to play. A short while later, Fernando Caballero completed a three-point play (a basket plus a free throw) that pushed the score to 86-62, marking the largest lead of the night.
