Aerostar, the private operator of Luis Muñoz MarÃn (LMM) International Airport in Carolina, reported Sunday that 7,784 passengers were affected by widespread flight cancellations and delays caused by adverse weather conditions impacting several airports across the United States and Canada.
According to the company, the disruptions involved 2,617 arriving passengers and 5,167 departing passengers. The weather‑related operational impacts extended to major airports including New York-JFK, Newark (EWR), Boston (BOS), Philadelphia (PHL), Washington-Reagan National (DCA), Atlanta (ATL), Miami (MIA), Charlotte (CLT), Raleigh-Durham (RDU), Hartford/Bradley (BDL), White Plains (HPN), Providence (PVD), Baltimore (BWI) and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW). Airport authorities reiterated their call for travelers to verify the status of their flights directly with their airlines before heading to the airport. They warned that delays and cancellations may continue as long as unfavorable weather persists at the affected airports across the U.S. and Canada.
