Maunabo rallies to edge Yabucoa 8-7 in COLICEBA

The Jueyeros of Maunabo defeated the Azucareros of Yabucoa 8-7 on Wednesday in a COLICEBA game at Francisco Rosario Paoli Stadium in Maunabo.

With the win, the race for qualification in the East Section was sealed. Maunabo is 3-5 in fourth place, while Yabucoa is 4-5 in third place.

The game seemed decided when the Azucareros took a 7-2 lead with two runs in the first inning and five more in the fourth. However, the Jueyeros refused to give up and took advantage of Yabucoa’s wild relief pitching to score six runs in the seventh inning.

Ángel Ortiz led Maunabo with two hits and three RBIs. Alexis Colón picked up the win for the Jueyeros, while reliever Steven Dávila took the loss for Yabucoa.
