Morovis Mayor Carmen Maldonado González thanked a group of municipal employees who arrived early Sunday morning to help begin the cleanup work at the Vázquez family residence, which was damaged by a fire.
Last Friday at 7:16 p.m., a raging blaze completely destroyed the home of an elderly couple on Padre Nuno Street in the Barahona neighborhood of Morovis, the Puerto Rico Police reported. The mayor confirmed that the house was a total loss, but that the couple and their 10-year-old granddaughter are in good health.
Maldonado González took to social media to share that anyone wishing to help the affected Vázquez family can do so through Ivelisse Vázquez, the daughter of the couple, at (787) 922-7378.
“Due to the fire, they lost everything; any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated,” the mayor emphasized. “The Municipality continues to coordinate assistance to help this family return to normalcy as soon as possible.”
