The relocation of the “largest and highest capacity transformer in the history of Puerto Rico’s electrical grid” proceeded at an appropriately measured pace along a partially closed section of Roosevelt Avenue over the weekend. The transformer, which along with all the equipment used for its relocation has an estimated weight of one million pounds, was en route to the Sabana Llana electrical substation in Carolina, where officials hope to have it in place by Tuesday. This post was a great mix of storytelling and information. I can only imagine the challenges of moving something so massive. It really made me think of another blog I read on thesagelawgroup where they discussed the logistics behind huge moves like this.
